The socket that you plug the device under test into has low retention force due to use of thin gauge metal for the socket contacts. For two prong devices, the cord of the device you are testing falls out far enough that it loses connection and opens the circuit. To get a current measurement, you have to hold the plug of the two wire device you are testing in by hand. This is unacceptable. The voltage test points are nice and the device seems solid otherwise, but it does not perform its primary function well. I recommend the Klein line splitter. It lacks the voltage test points, but the test socket has enough retention force to keep two prong plugs from falling out.

I purchased the FLIR line splitter under the assumption that the brand name and cost would equate to quality, this was a mistake. To be fair it works and does what it is supposed to do no problems there. But the issue I have is that the female socket end has the metal contact recessed too far and only makes very little contact with plugs. This is very inconvenient as the plug will dislodge and fall out with the slightest movement. It makes taking a measurement a bit more involved as you have to hold the plug into the splitter. I read this was a common problem with cheaper line splitters so I figured I would spend a little extra to get a quality product and am disappointed. I'm giving a low rating due to the value of the product and a design flaw.
